Brand redesign
I worked at a school for 3 years as a Teaching Assistant. During that time, I was asked by a Teacher if I could remake characters from a curriculum designed for behavior modification (SuperFlex) to fit a magic theme he had for the year. While we were not able to finish all of the characters due to the school year ending, I enjoyed making unique characters that still conveyed the intended idea.
The idea was to attach a specific behavior to a creature and learn strategies to “defeat” that creature when it takes control of you. Because of the magic theme of the classroom I decided to turn the creatures into curses. The most important aspect was maintaining the behavior behind the creature/curse so that the tool could still be used as intended.
The first image is Topic Twister Meister. In the SuperFlex curriculum this creature is responsible for making someone go on wild tangents or completely change the topic altogether. The next image is the curse remake, the Derailing Curse. I took the idea of derailing a conversation literally by having a train burst out of one student’s mouth and through the conversation bubble of another.
The first image is Space Invader. This creature is responsible for making someone get too close to others. The second image is the curse remake, the Skin Crawler. I went with the idea of you becoming a curse on someone, latched closely to their back.
